Our integrated poultry farming business model gives us control over the value chain, which results in better quality and cost control, and a high level of self-sufficiency. The four divisions within CAB Cakaran Corporation Berhad (“CAB”) are complementary to one another.  Where necessary to enhance quality and customer service, we engage with external parties in long-term partnerships to achieve mutually beneficial results.

FARMING AND PRIMARY PROCESSING

From Farm to Factory & Fresh Food Aisle

Our integrated poultry farming’s upstream activities, which includes grand-parent stock and parent stock farming and hatcheries activities, are primarily located in Penang, Kedah and Malacca while the broiler farming activities are located throughout the Peninsular Malaysia, making us one of the largest integrated poultry farming producers in the country.  These farms are under the Group's integrated poultry farming and processing division which has been the main revenue generator for the Group. 

We import quality grand-parent stock for breeding of parent stock to produce broiler eggs; farming and processing of broiler chicken and further processing into value-added food products.  Our hatchery centers use high quality incubators whilst our breeder farms use the latest closed-house technology and equipment, and are supervised by experienced veterinarians and specialized poultry husbandry extension staff.

CAB has expanded its upstream activities via its joint venture with Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah by setting up its grand-parent stock farm in Ladang Bukit Perak Utara in the district of Pendang, Kedah.

The CAB Group’s broiler farms are managed with proper temperature control, providing a healthy and comfortable environment for the broilers to grow.  We adopt certain farm management practices for our broiler farms such as vaccinations, health and hygiene maintenance, and quality of chicken feeds and drinking water to ensure healthy growth of broilers.

In addition to our own broiler farms, we contract out to various farmers the farming of broiler chickens.  We support contracted farmers with supply of day-old chicks, feed, veterinary supplies and technical knowhow in best farm practices.

The matured broiler chickens are sent to our four state–of-the-art slaughtering and processing plants located at Sungai Petani (Kedah), Segambut (Kuala Lumpur), Majlis Tanah (Malacca) and Kuantan (Pahang).  The slaughtering and processing of the broiler chickens adhere to strict hygiene and Halal protocols. The broilers produced at our Johor farms with certification from Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore are exported to our Singapore processing plant at Senoko Crescent for processing.  

 

 

FURTHER PROCESSING

From Raw to Ready-to-Cook

Our further processed products are processed under our Kyros Food Industries Sdn. Bhd., Farm’s Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd., HK Food (M) Sdn. Bhd, Tong Huat Poultry Processing Factory Pte. Ltd, and Gourmet Chefs Pte. Ltd.. These subsidiaries leverage one another to enhance operation efficiency and achieve economies of scale for production materials and reduce production cost. Furthermore, our poultry division’s supply of raw ingredients for the processing of these further processed food products allow us control over cost and quality of meat sources.

Our Halal poultry products are processed chicken or chicken parts as well as the further processed products, such as frankfurters, nuggets, cold cuts, smoked sausages and cured meats.  Our products are marketed under brand names such as Likes, Garing, Ayam Likes, Hennies, Segaria, Rasaria and Farm’s Best.  We have established strong distribution networks in the domestic and Singapore markets which encompass retail outlets, wholesalers, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and hypermarkets. Our convenience foods to gourmet meats are finding growing demand within the domestic and international markets, as modern lifestyles are seeking delicious, easy-to-prepare meals.  Presently, we export to Asian countries including, Brunei, Pakistan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Singapore.

From Factory to Consumer

We entered the supermarket business to cater to the outskirts, where the demand for quality, fresh foods and a comfortable shopping experience is underserved.  Presently, we operate medium-sized supermarkets under Pasaraya Jaya Gading Sdn. Bhd. and Home Mart Fresh & Frozen Sdn. Bhd., located at Pahang, Kelantan, Penang and Kedah. The Group’s long-term strategy is to build a big network of such outlets throughout the Peninsular as one of the distribution channels for the Group’s products.

From Sea to Seafood Delight

The marine products division extends our food product range; we process and export frozen marine products, as well as manufacture value-added marine products.

Presently, we are exploring aqua-culturing opportunities, with the possibility of venturing into the farming of fish and shrimp, which, if successful, will improve the self-sufficiency of our marine division.

From Mediterranean to Malaysian Eateries

Under the Kyros Kebab brand, we operate a chain of franchised food outlets selling kebab dishes. Originating from the Mediterranean region, kebabs are healthy sources of protein and a quick nutritious meal for our customers.  Through our ten Kyros Kebab outlets in the Klang Valley, we have a direct connection with customers who consume our food.
