Milestones

2017

  • CAB, via its subsidiary, Farm Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd., signed Agreements with Sinmah Group for the acquisition of 26 broiler farms located on 43 parcels of agricultural lands measuring approximately 294.3553 acres.

  • CAB signed a non-binding letter of intent with FELCRA Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. to explore the possibility of collaboration in agriculture and aquaculture business activities.

  • CAB signed MOU with Panasonic Eco Solutions Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to carry out a feasibility study for establishing a joint venture solar farm project.

  • CAB entered into shareholders’ agreement with all the shareholders of Singapore Poultry Hub Sdn. Bhd. (SPH) to regulate the business affairs of SPH in undertaking the poultry primary processing business in Singapore.

  • CAB via its subsidiary, acquired a second factory in Singapore to increase the production space for food processing.

  • CAB signed Joint Venture agreement with Ternak Ayam Padu to form several joint venture companies in Indonesia to establish a fully integrated poultry business in Indonesia.

 

2016

  • CAB signed a Placement Agreement with Plant Wealth Holdings Limited for 15,064,400 new shares at an issue price of RM2.07 per placement shares.

  • EC Grocer Pte. Ltd. was established in Singapore.  The company distributes gourmet food and ingredients to food businesses as well as directly to consumers.

  • OTK Farm Equipment Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated to manufacture and trade in farming equipment.

  • CAB together with Tong Huat, Plant Wealth and Brighton Properties Pte. Ltd. acquired 100% equity in Farm Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. (“FBFI”).

  • CAB, via its subsidiary, FBFI signed Agreements with Sinmah Group for the acquisition of 6 breeder farms located on 21 parcels of agricultural lands with measuring approximately 200.23 acres. This marks our strong presence in the Southern Region of Peninsular Malaysia, more particularly in Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and Johore.

 

2015

  • Gourmet Chefs Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in Singapore to venture into further processed food products in Singapore.

  • CAB Amesist Biomass Generation Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated to explore using waste from poultry farms and by-products of meat-production to generate sustainable energy.

  • CAB entered into a MOU with KMP Private Ltd in December to undertake a feasibility study to establish the viability of setting up a fully integrated poultry business in Indonesia on a joint venture basis with the Salim Group.


2014

  • Acquired 51% share equity of Tong Huat Poultry Processing Factory Pte. Ltd. and its subsidiary Ban Hong Poultry Pte. Ltd. and were completed in year 2015. These acquisitions enable our Company to expand our broiler business to Singapore with our own processing factory.

2009

  • Pasaraya Jaya Gading Sdn. Bhd. was established as a subsidiary of Jaya Gading Farm Sdn. Bhd. Thus began our expansion into the supermarket retail business, providing fresh food and daily necessities to small-town communities.

 

2008

  • Cabin Premier GPS Farm Sdn. Bhd. was established as a joint venture with Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah; with the objective of venturing into the breeding of grand-parent stock in the northern state.

 

2007

  • Protheme Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in Singapore as a subsidiary of Likes Marketing Sdn. Bhd. and our value-added products found their way to Singapore consumers.

 

2006

  • Acquired 55% share equity of Jaya Gading Farm Sdn. Bhd., establishing a strong foothold in the east coast for our poultry business.

  • CAB Cakaran Corporation Berhad was transferred to the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia on May 3, 2006.

 

2005

  • Acquired 50% of Shin Hong Breeding Farm Sdn. Bhd. which enable us to expand our poultry farming activities in Penang.

 

2004

  • CAB Cakaran (Langkawi) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated, extending our coverage in northern Peninsular Malaysia.

  • CAB Food Sdn. Bhd. (now known as Home Mart Fresh & Frozen Sdn. Bhd.) was acquired by Kyros International Sdn. Bhd.

  • Likes Marketing Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated, to spearhead the sale and distribution of our value-added food products.

  • CAB Cakaran (Timur) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated to establish poultry farming activity in the East coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

  • CAB acquired CAB Marine Resources Sdn. Bhd. and HK Foods Sdn. Bhd. which expanded our offerings to include marine products.

 

2003

  • CAB Cakaran Corporation Sdn. Bhd. was converted to a public limited company, becoming CAB Cakaran Corporation Berhad (CAB), on January 14, 2003.

  • CAB subsequently acquired CABC Group including CAB Cakaran Sdn. Bhd.; Jimat Jaya Sdn. Bhd.; Likes Store Sdn. Bhd. (now known as CAB Cakaran Southern Sdn. Bhd.); CAB Cakaran Breeding Farm Sdn. Bhd.; Jimat Jaya Pemasaran Sdn. Bhd. and Antik Kualiti Sdn. Bhd.

  • CAB also acquired Kyros International Sdn. Bhd. and its group of companies, including Kyros Kebab Sdn. Bhd. and Kyros Food Industries Sdn. Bhd.

  • CAB was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities on December 22, 2003.


 

2002

  • CAB Cakaran Corporation Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on June 20, 2002 as a holding company.

 

2001

  • CABC Group expanded its chicken slaughtering and processing activities by acquiring an on-going chicken slaughtering and processing factory in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. The processed chicken and chicken parts produced from this factory have been given a halal certification by the Islamic Development Department in Malaysia.

1990s

  • In 1990, CABC (then known as Heap Hong Leong Trading Co. Sdn. Bhd.) was incorporated to assume the business of Chop Ah Bee. CABC assumed its current name in the year 2000.

  • CABC Group undertook a number of major business expansion programmes, both vertically and horizontally, to include upstream and downstream poultry activities such as breeding of parent stock, hatching of eggs into DOCs and slaughtering and processing of chicken and further processed products.


1970s

  • CAB Cakaran Sdn. Bhd. (“CABC”) began its business as a trader of chicken through the initiation of its founder, Chuah Ah Bee, who set up Chop Ah Bee in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
